Hair

You know what happens when you're almost 20 and have what appears to be a mid-life crisis? Hair cutting. FYI, I do regret it the day after. I grabbed our hair scissors and whacked on my hair until I had bangs again. I haven't had bangs in over two years, but before I had always cut them myself so I wasn't too worried. This time the scissors slipped and I cut a huge chunk from the edge of my face. So now when I pull it up in a ponytail and clip my bangs back, I have a side chunk that falls out and awkwardly hangs there. On the plus side it will grow back in a few months. The lesson of this story is do not do anything drastic when you are upset.
See the weird chunk I cut? Yeah. My at least the short pieces are super curly now. Yay for curly hair!

They sold the company I was works for as well and about two weeks after it sold, they let go everyone but about 10 people. Which means that hundreds on a little town are now out of work. But I have an interview at Maurice's on Monday so hopefully it all goes well! If not, God's got a plan!

I also had to go back to the doctor. I had been barreling a cold for a few days and one night my ears started really hurting. I started crying like a little girl and my mom raced me to the ER. I had an ear infection that was so bad the doctor looked queezy. He prescribed some medicine and sent me on my way after I had laid there for an hour and a half holding my head in pain. At 2 in the morning mind you. I couldn't hear at all out of right ear and barely out of the left. A few days later, I had been coughing so much that I re-injured my chest muscle/joint. I have never had so many health problems, especially all at the same time. I am almost certain that I have seen everything Netflix has to offer.

And finally, I found the kittens my cat had! There were four but we have only seen three lately. And we live in the country so there is no telling what has become of the baby black kitty.. Snif, snif. But they're adorable and will be moving on to go be barn cats at my second momma's house. So it's like I don't have to get rid of them at all!

I know you love my random paragraph with different subjects. It feels like a little girl's diary. I'm ok with that.

I also got new boots!

All in all, that has been my life for a few weeks and I am now just waiting for the fall semester to begin. Yippee. I'm dripping in sarcasm.

Have a great week and God bless!

Livin' the Crazy Life

And Apparently my posts haven't been publishing.. But besides that how have y'all been?!

Started my new job, which I am incredibly thankful for!

We had VBS and I miss my kiddos almost constantly! Although I do get to see most of the on Sundays and Wednesdays!

Our Fourth of July party was fantastic andddddd we are making a little progress on my basement at the new house!

And I got bored and curled my hair all fancy like. It's what happens when you are the kind of girl that normally stays in in a Saturday night. Except I did go to the truck pulls tonight so my hair curling efforts were not in vain. I did injure myself by grabbing the curling iron barrel because I wasn't looking at which part I was grabbing. So two of my fingers now have tiger stripe blisters. But hey! Pretty hair and looking like a tiger? Cool!

I did spend last Sunday evening in urgent care. I had been having really bad chest pains since that Friday and by Sunday it got to the point where I wouldn't breathe because it hurt so bad. And when I can't sing in church, you know something is reallllllyyyy wrong. The doctor said I had either torn apart, or pulled the muscle or joint between my esophagus and rib cage. He gave me some drugs and sent me home. Which of course they make me even more nauseous and dizzy. But I  about 80% back at the moment so the joint is healing nicely. Whatever I did, I did it good. Yes, the hillbilly holler talk is coming out. Pardon my atrocious grammar.

Other than that I just spend my time working, going to church, and doing economics and physical science homework for Drury. This fall I will officially be a junior which also means I will be a year ahead of where my age group should be. This makes me happy, happy, happy. (Yes, that was a Duck Dynasty reference. That show/family makes me feel that way.) I hope everyone has had a lovely summer so far and that it just keeps getting better!

The Date Night That Wasn't Really Date Night.

Basically, tonight I got dinner and a movie with my best friend and I called it a date. I think when he buys you dinner it's officially a date. But not a date date. you'd just have to know us to understand. Anywhoooooooo, what makes a good date is when you finish eating and he orders a giant chocolate cookie pizza thingy for dessert. Yes sirreeeee! We ate at Old Chicago which is one of my favorites! Yum-O. When we got to the theater of course it started pouring rain. Every time we go out it rains and we end up getting completely soaked. Tonight was not a story that varied at all. After we watched "Now You See Me," which was FANTASTIC by the way, we walked to my car with water running down our faces and hopped in the car. I should've brought towels. Next time we decide to go out it'll happen! I dressed pretty casual and for once I straightened my hair. And then remembered why I don't usually. It takes about 45 minutes to do. Blah.  Tomorrow I'm going to a wedding, picking out kitchen backsplash tile, and going to the truck pulls with my Daddy. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

OOTD

Today was pretty much a lazy day besides church. Life has been so crazy that I needed a day off. So besides soffe shorts and our church vbs tee shirt, this is what I wore. My shirt is from the Buckle, and my capris, wedges, and undershirt are from Maurice's. my necklace is from Tiffany's and my ring that I always have on was a graduation present from an old family friend. Happy Sunday loves!

Spring Lovin'

Today was absolutely FABULOUS! Church was so good, like always, and then my friend and I decided to take a trip to Springfield to do some shopping! Although I had to buy him two cookies since I dragged him through makeup and perfume stores, it was a super fun day! We grabbed Chinese food, our cookies, new makeup, perfume, and his sunglasses and hit the road again for his house. Upon arrival there was a stray dog and he decided he was going to go get a shotgun and scare it off. The poor puppy just sat and looked at him and yes, his sister and I made him stop! The ghillie suit was the funniest outfit I've ever seen him in. The stray dog was more afraid of him in that thing than a gun going off. His sister and I died laughing at how much he resembled Sasquatch! Then at hurt I convinced the boys that he had bought me an extremely nice gun while in Bass Pro. Talk about jealousy. And I should be an actress...I fooled even my second mom and dad... Hehe. The storm is coming in now and it smells fantastic out here in the sticks. I hope you all have a fabulous week and God bless!

Playing Catch Up

All I can say is "Phew!" I'm sure the First day at any job is a whirlwind but I felt really overwhelmed today. Thank goodness I know a lot of people that work there! I decided to go a little bold with the outfit voice and wear a cobalt blue maxi skirt. I just bought it Saturday on a shopping trip with my best friend and decided to break it in. I've never worn one, and I absolutely loved it! I paired it with just a basic black and white striped tee, my Tiffany necklace, and some black sandals. 3 of the 6 boys have a regional championship game tonight and I was so bummed I was going to miss it but my heart is definitely there! I also got some exciting news from my second mom Sunday that I'm going to be a big sister again! I am beyond excited and all of us are praying for a girl! Thursday was a complete blast and I went mudding for the first time! We rode four wheelers till about 1 in the morning and raced down gravel roads, the creek, and tried to soak each other as much as possible. Spring semester has ended. summer is about to start, and work will be carrying on. And finally, the first float trip for the season has been planned for this Saturday. Other than that there isn't much else going on. Have an amazing week everyone!

P.S. I'm adding a picture of the outfit, and the after math of mudding. Well, I wiped off a little mud. ;)

Weekend Bliss

I for one LOVE weekends. Especially the ones where I can relax. New nails to start off my Saturday and a new church outfit from Maurice's. The unveiling might come tomorrow ;) Having lunch with my momma and then spending multiple hours doing Spanish homework. Blah! But happy spring dears!

Happy Easter!

Easter at our house is almost non-existent. So I spent the day with my second family. Church was incredible with more people in attendance which made my favorite part, the singing, even more amazing than usual. My best friend was there and it kills me that he had to go back to Missouri State right after church. He really is one of my favorite people on this earth. The best hug ever happened right before he left, and even though I turned into that crazy clingy girl right in the middle he didn't make me let go. Hehe. And he even picked up all my stuff I had set on the ground so I wouldn't have to try to pick it up in a dress, heels, and crazy wind. :) A Marilyn moment was bound to happen. That boy is a keeper!
After the depression we headed home and the younger boys decided that they would buy all of us lunch for Easter. Yes, we went to McDonald's, and yes, I got a kid's meal. The funny part was that the toy was definitely not kid friendly and all six of us spent over half an hour trying to get the thing set up. And we got it. Once.
To make myself feel better I decided to detail clean my car. I'm a weird person I understand but I love my baby to be shiny. So I spent a few hours scrubbing, waxing, and polishing. And belted out almost all of the Les Mis soundtrack in the process. Ahh serenity.
After watching Les Mis with the beat friend and his family for the second time last night I've been on a movie kick, so I decided to watch "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close." I'm about halfway through and I'm still not sure what to think of it. Interesting is the word coming to mind. Sandra Bullock is always astonishing in every role so I have no doubt that I will love this movie just as much as the rest.
I hope and pray that everyone is having a fantastic Easter and I plan on enjoying the rest of my evening finishing my movie and lazing around is sweat pants. Happy Easter! He is risen!

Introducing Amanda Rachel

This is me. I'm simple a 19 1/2 year old girl stuck in a small town. I say I'm from Springfield, Missouri because it's close enough to my home. I believe that family is not only by blood therefore I have two moms and dads. Two brothers and 6 non-blood brothers. Being the only girl gets interesting and over the years I've had to learn how to hold my own. Even though they're tough on me, they're the first ones to fight for me. I've had plenty of animals over the years and currently I have two dogs, Isak and Jasmin, a bird named Rosie, and two barn cats named Skittles and Lila. I collect anything girly such as clothing, nail polish (130 bottles and growing,) shoes, makeup, and hair products. Thanks for checking out my blog! It means the world to me!
